Three Charged With Murdering Two Teens Remain In Jail Without Bond

A bond hearing for the suspects was held on Monday.

Rockville, Md (KM). The three men charged with the murder of two teenagers on June 5th are being held without bond. Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy says Jose Canales-Yanez, 25, Edgar Garcia-Gaona, 24, and Roger Garcia, 19, were in District Court Monday, where bail was denied.

All three are charged with two counts each of 1st-degree murder and conspiracy to commit 1st-degree murder.

Artem Ziberov, 18, and Shadi Najjar, 17, were gunned down inside a car on Gallery Court in Montgomery Village. Najjar, who was behind the wheel, was hit by four rounds, and Ziberov was struck with ten rounds.  The fatal shootings occurred the night before the two teenagers were scheduled to graduate from Northwest High School in Germantown.

“Arrests have been made. This case is not done. Our investigation is not over,” said McCarthy. “What will be ultimately presented at the time these matters go to trial will be substantially more than even what we have here today..”

Montgomery County Police say a search by investigators of one of the suspect’s home found bullets that were similar to what were found at the crime scene.
