One Man Dead Following Two-Vehicle Crash

The victim was a pedestrian who was struck by a motor vehicle.

 

 

Germantown, Md (KM) The investigation continues into a fatal pedestrian accident in Germantown Tuesday morning.

Montgomery County Police say Richard Lee Cooper, 64, was struck and killed while standing in the median at Great Seneca Highway near Middlebrook Road. Officers say the striking vehicle was a Toyota Sequoia operated by Rachelle Tankeu, 55, of Germantown. She was traveling westbound on Middlebrook Road when her vehicle left the road and struck Cooper. Tankeu’s Sequoia then struck a Ford Expedition as its operator, Gender Anelio Castillo Flores, 32, of Germantown, was making a left hand turn from Great Seneca Highway to Middelbrook Road.

Tankeu and the driver of the Expedition were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene.
