County Fire Fighter Receives Prestigious Award

She was honored for her fire prevention activities.

 


Emmitsburg, Md. (KM) A member of the Vigilant Hose Company in Emmitsburg has been awarded the Silver Spring Fire Prevention Trophy. Elyssa Cool was presented with the honor on June 20th at the Maryland State Firemen’s Association Convention taking place in Ocean City this week.

This is the highest award presented by the Firemen’s Association. It’s presented each year to the individual as opposed to a group or fire department effort.

“We are very proud of Elyssa and  her great work in helping our community and neighboring communities with safety messaging and presentations,” says Vigilant Hose Company Vice President Frank Davis, in a statement. “She enjoys the support of our entire organization as she helps our personnel to successfully reach out to the public with numerous, year-round fire and life safety initiatives.”
