Fire Damages Home In Sykesville Sun. Morning

One fire fighter was taken to the hospital for heat-related emergency.


Sykesville, Md (KM) Fire damaged a one-story, split foyer home in Sykesville Sunday morning.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says 50 fire fighters were dispatched to 729 Buckhorn Road shortly before 8:00 AM and spent 30-minutes bringing the flames under control. A Howard County Fire fighter was transported to the hospital for a heat-related emergency.

Damage is estimated at $175,000 to the structure. The cause remains under investigation.

Officials say the house was vacant at the time of the fire, and was being prepared to be sold.
