WV Man Killed In Vehicle Crash In Washington County

State Police say his vehicle struck a tractor trailer.

 


Hagerstown, Md. (KM) A two-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 70 in Washington County Tuesday morning claimed the life of West Virginia man.

State Police say troopers were dispatched to I-70 at the 37 mile marker shortly after 8:30 AM. Their investigation determined that a Honda Accord operated by Robbie Brook Reid, 52, of Shepherdstown had overtaken a tractor trailer in the slow lane on I-70 east of Hagerstown. The car then left its travel lane, entered the slow lane and rear-ended the big rig. Reid’s vehicle then crossed over the fast lane and struck an embankment. The Honda overturned, partially trapping the driver.

Washington County Fire and Rescue were able to free Reid, and take him to Meritus Medical Center where he died of his injuries..

The tractor trailer operator was not hurt.
