Six Indictments Handed Down Friday By Frederick County Grand Jury

One was against a Brunswick man for assault.

Frederick, Md (KM). Six indictments were issued on Friday by the Frederick County Grand Jury One was for Roy Anthony Strawsburg, 29,of Brunswick, whose charged with 1st-degree assault and 2nd-degree assault.

State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says Strawsburg was arrested for an incident which occurred on May 15th. He says the victim came into Brunswick Police headquarters and told officers he had been beaten up. “The victim had difficulty standing; his face was bloodied; and his left eye  was swollen shut. The victim said he was a passenger in the defendant’s car. The defendant starting yelling at him, pulled out the car over, gets out of the car and defendant starts to beat the victim in head repeatedly to the point where the victim actually passed out,” Smith says. He also says the victim was left on the side of the road and had serious facial injuries.

Charles Sheldon Snedegar,Jr. 19, of Thurmont was indicted on two counts of promoting and distributing child pornography, and five counts of possession of child pornography. Smith says the State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received word last year from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about the distribution of child pornography from a specific internet address. Investigators were able to identify Snedegar as the suspect, and served a search and seizure warrant on his home on July 14th.. “They found the defendant there,and they were able to confirm that he was uploading child pornography videos to his file-share account. They found some additional child pornography at the scene to include some on his cell phone. So serious charges for him,” Smith says.

Another indictment was handed down to Matthew Felix Anduce, 22, of Mount Airy. He’s charged with 3rd-degree sex offense. Smith says sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 1,000 block of Village Gate Drive on July 19th to investigate reports of a sexual assault which occurred in another location. He says Anduce had been sending text messages to the victim, a 14-year-old girl, and both agreed to meet. The girl’s mother went looking for her, and came upon some illegal activity. Authorities were contacted. “Obviously, their investigation revealed that Mr. Anduce, whose 22 years of age, was committing a sex offense on a 14-year-old.   The age of consent in Maryland is 16. So it’s  a crime, whether it’s consensual or not, to have any sex offense or intercourse or whatever with a 14-year-old in Maryland,” he says.

A Frederick woman, Frezara Lynn Griffin, 29, was indicted for 3rd-degree burglary, 4th-degree burglary, 2nd-degree assault and reckless endangerment for a residential break-in. Smith says police were called to the scene on July 15th. “When they were en route to that location, they were notified that a knife was involved. Apparently, the defendant pushed her way into an apartment, struck the victim with a broom handle, and attempted to threaten her with a knife,” he says.

Other indictments issued by the Grand Jury on Friday, July 28th included:

* Jordan Christina Maddox, 18, no fixed address. She is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia (a digital scale)  for an incident which occurred on April 27th, 2017.

* Patrick Raymond Poney, 36, of Brunswick, Md. He is charged with 1st-degree assault and 2nd-degree assault for an incident which occurred on May 15th, 2017;

Grand Jury indictments move these cases to the Circuit Court, where a trial date will be set.
