BROOKEVILLE, Md. (KR) A Maryland State Police helicopter assisted in rescuing an injured horseback rider on Thursday in Montgomery County. A 67-year old woman was thrown down and kicked by a horse while riding at a remote farm in Brookeville around 3:30 PM.
Rescue crews from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue were called to the scene, but due to the severity of the woman’s injuries and the location of the accident, a Trooper helicopter was requested.
The patient was hoisted into the helicopter and flown to MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC for treatment of her injuries.
