Man Gets 80 Years For Sexually Abusing Minors

The victims ranged in age from six to 13.

Frederick, Md (KM). Frederick County Circuit Court Judge Theresa Adams on Friday handed down a stiff sentence to  a man who sexually abused girls. Alejandro Jose Garcia, 53, of Pittsburgh, Pa. received 80 years in prison. But he has to serve a mandatory minimum of 60 years before being eligible for parole.

State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says Frederick Police began an investigation on May 24th, 2016 after a pastor showed the father of one of the victims a letter which stated that Garcia sexually abused her as a child. After reading the letter, the father asked his daughter about it, and reported the incidents to police.

“It actually revealed two additional victims of the sexual abuse. All of these occurred between 2003 to 2008. The victims ranged in age from six to 13,” Smith says.

After a trial, Garcia was convicted on April 28th of eight of the nine charges against him. They were sex abuse of a minor, 2nd-degree rape, three counts of 2nd-degree sex offense and three counts of 3rd-degree sex offense.

If he survives his 60-years in prison, and is released on parole, Garcia will be required to register as a sex offender for life.

“Abusing all these girls, ages six to 13, he deserves to go to jail for the rest of his life,” says Smith. “This is absolutely, unequivocally the right sentence for this guy.”
