The assault happened in Montgomery County park.
GAITHERSBURG, Md. – Montgomery County Police arrested a 22-year old West Virginia man and charged him with attempting to rape a woman, when she was walking her dog in a Gaithersburg park this week.
Police report on Monday shortly before 11 AM, Jeffrey Uy started to talk to the victim about her dog in Great Seneca Stream Valley Park. He asked the woman for sex and she refused.
Uy allegedly grabbed her and attempted to restrain her. The woman was able to free herself and ran across the park, being chased by Uy.
She called 911 to report the attack.
Responding police located Uy and placed him under arrest.
He is being held without bail in the Montgomery County Detention Center in Rockville and charged with attempted second degree rape and second degree assault.
