Fire Destroys Apartment Building in Hagerstown

Crews are trying to account for all 74 occupants of the apartment building.


HAGERSTOWN, Md. (DG) – A two alarrm fire engulfed an apartment building in Hagerstown Tuesday night.

 

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office reports fire fighters were dispatched to the Woodbridge Apartments in the 11,000 block of Robinwood Drive shortly after 8 PM.

First reponders found flames in the three story, 37 unit apartment building. It took 90 minutes to bring the fire under control.

Crews are trying to account for all 74 occupants of the apartment building.

Witnesses describe a possible lightening strike to the building prior to the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
