Two sailors from Maryland are among those still missing after a collision between a destroyer and oil tanker.
GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) — The U.S. Navy says two sailors from Maryland are among those still missing after a collision between a destroyer and oil tanker.
The Navy identified the missing sailors from Maryland on Thursday as Kevin Sayer Bushell and Timothy Thomas Eckels Jr.
The Navy says Bushell is a 26-year-old electronics technician 2nd class. Eckels is a 23-year-old information systems technician 2nd class.
The Navy on Thursday called off the search at sea for the missing sailors, but said divers will continue to search flooded compartments inside the USS John S. McCain.
Bushell graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 2009 and joined the Navy seven years ago.
