Police Investigate Shooting at Waffle House

The shooting happened when people in the restaurant began to fight.

Williamsport, Md. (DG) – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday morning at the Waffle House in Williamsport.

Police say they responded to the restaurant on E. Potomac Street at 3:45 AM for a reporting shooting and stabbing.

Once on scene police learned that several people began to fight in the restaurant and when an employee tried to break up the fight, they were cut on the left wrist. Witnesses say a single gun shot was fired during the incident.

The suspects fled before police arrived.

The employee was taken to Meritus Medical Center for treatment of their injury and later released.

Several hours later, a man arrived at Meritus Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound which occurred during the Waffle House incident. The man suffered a wound to his left forearm and was later treated and releasedl.

Police say the investigation into this incident is on-going and they are asking anyone with information to call.
