Clear Spring Volunteer Firefighter Charged with Setting Fire to Mother’s Home

Hagerstown, Md. (KK) – A Clear Spring volunteer firefighter has been charged with setting fire to his mother’s home after a year long investigation.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says it happened July 26, 2016. A passerby saw smoke coming from the house on National Pike and warned the person inside who was later identified as 21-year-old Conner Greenlee. Greenlee was an active volunteer firefighter with the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company.

Firefighters found that the bulk of the fire was contained to the attic of the two story home. Damage was estimated at 80 thousand dollars. Wednesday, investigators charged Greenlee with First Degree Arson. He’s being held at the Washington County Detention Center awaiting bond review.
