Triumph Thermal Services To Close

This will result in local job losses.

Frederick, Md (KM) The City of Frederick says Triumph Thermal Services will be closing next year which will result in the loss of about 100 jobs. It cites as the reason for the closure as consolidation of its operations. The facility located at Highland Street, formerly known as Fairchild Controls, Inc., has been part of Frederick’s business community for 27 years.

Richard Griffin, Director of the City’s Department of Economic Development, says this employer is important, and it’s a disappointment to seeĀ  the company close its facility along Highland Street. “Our primary concern is for the 96 employees who will be displaced by this consolidation and closure for their families,” Griffin said in a statement.
Frederick County Workforce Services Director, Michelle Day, says her office has reached out to these soon-to-be displaced employees to provide them with transitional services. “It’s our goal to work with city, county and state partners to ensure that the displaced workers receive employment and training assistance in order to connect to opportunities with other businesses in the Frederick area,” she said.

The City says Triumph Thermal Services plans to begin its layoff on or about December, 2017, and end by August, 2018.

The company’s departure will result in 100,000 square feet of warehouse/flex space available for a new tenant. “The City will work closely with the brokerage community to identify future tenants for the Highland Street facility when it becomes available,” says Griffin. “We are disappointed to see Triumph close its Frederick facility, but wish them well in their consolidation efforts.”
