Gun Store Burglary Under Investigation

A reward is being offered to information leading to an arrest and conviction.

 


Clear Spring, Md (KM) Maryland State Police and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives continue to investigate a burglary at a gun store in Washington County last weekend.

Authorities at the Hagerstown Barrack received word of an alarm at the Clear Spring Gun Shop in the 14,000 block of National Pike on Saturday, September 23rd at 3:00 AM. Troopers responded and learned that the store had been broken into, and 19 handguns were stolen.

Investigators and crime scene technicians responded to the scene to collect evidence. They say two suspects wearing dark clothing and masks forced their way into the store through the front door, broke into a gun display case and made off with the firearms. One suspect was carrying a small, black colored handgun during the burglary.

The investigation continues into this burglary.

ATF and the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearms industry, have announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. The Clear Spring Gun Shop has a federal firearms license.
