Two students were transported to the hospital.
More than 30 students in Montgomery County headed to school Thursday morning were attacked by bees.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer said emergency responders were called to Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg shortly after 8 AM and found many students suffering from bee stings.
“The students were all located in the health room and being assisted by the nurse. We did eventually transport two students with non-life threatening injuries,” Piringer said.
Emergency crews located the hive of yellow jacket hornets in a bush across the street from the high school in front of a Dunkin Donuts.
The management company of the shopping center sprayed and removed the bee hive.
