Student Makes Threat Against Williamsport High School

Student was arrested by police after threats were made.


Williamsport, Md. (DG) – Police have arrested a Williamsport High School student for making threats of mass violence against their school.

Police say on October 18, 2017 at around 3:30 PM, police received a tip by school administrators about a threat that was made against the school. A parent had called into the school and said their child had overheard two students talking about a third student who had made a threat to “shoot up the school”.

Deputies went to the residence of the suspect student before school on October 19th.

The suspect, who is a juvenile, was placed under arrest and taken to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

The juvenile was eventually released to the custody of their parent.
