Suspect In Double Homicide Denied Bail

He was before a District Court Judge on Friday.

Frederick, Md (KM) The man accused of killing two people on Acacia Court in the Frederick area on Thursday will not be getting out of jail on bond. The News-Post reports that Delajhi Joyner,24, was denied bail on Friday in Frederick County District Court.

According to the paper, Judge Dino Flores called the facts of the case “horrific,” and said there are no conditions for bail for Joyner which could keep the community safe.

Joyner is charged with two counts each of 1st-degree murder, 2nd-degree murder and 1st-degree assault

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says it responded to Acacia Court on Thursday at 5:10 AM for an assault in progress. They found two victims, Shondre Jannelle Brown Naylor, and Jermaine Langley Hill, Jr., lying in the roadway. Both were pronounced dead by medics who responded to the scene.

Investigators believe Joyner assaulted both Naylor and Hill. He got into a Chevrolet Malibu, which was owned by Naylor, and ran over the two, dragging them a distance. He then ran over them a second time, authorities say.

He fled the scene, but was taken into custody a short time later.
