Area Police Need Public’s Assistance In Locating Identity Thief

This person has used stolen credit cards to pay for merchandise.

 


Frederick, Md (KM)  Authorities in Frederick, Washington and Montgomery Counties, and the Hagerstown Police Department, are trying to identify an individual involved in several thefts and credit card fraud.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says these incidents occurred in Frederick, Jefferson, Hagerstown, Rockville and Gaithersburg between March and October of this year. In most cases, stolen credit cards were used shortly after a victim’s wallet was taken from a break room, a gym or a back office. A couple of times the thefts occurred as the suspect was looking for a restroom.

The thief is described as an African-American male, 5’8″ to 5’10”, 150 to 165 pounds, with a full beard and mustache. This man was often seen wearing athletic or casual attire, including a baseball cap.

Employees of fitness centers and retailers are also asked to be on the alert for this person, and contact law enforcement if they see him.
