Police found a loaded .45 caliber handgun inside of the vehicle
Frederick, Md. (DG) – Police arrested a man after a traffic stop Wednesday evening in Frederick.
Frederick Police stopped a car in the area of Key Parkway and Stonegate Drive driven by Bernard Washington Jr.
Officers searched Washington and the car. They found a loaded .45 caliber handgun inside of the vehicle. A bag of crack cocaine was found in Washington’s pocket.
After running a check on the handgun, police discovered it had been stolen. Officers also learned that Washington was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a previous criminal conviction. He has been charged with possession of a stolen regulated firearm and possession of crack cocaine.
Washington is currently out on bond for a separate pending case for illegal possession of a handgun in Hagerstown, Maryland.
