Baltimore Man Charged With Assault In Carroll County

Authorities say he used a knife against the victim.

 

 

Westminster, Md (KM) A Baltimore man has been charged in Carroll County in connection with an assault with a knife. Tavis McCree, 38, was arrested on Tuesday, and charged with attempted 2nd-degree murder, 1st-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

At around 4:18 AM on Tuesday, Dec. 5th, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the 1,000 block of Western Chapel Road in Westminster for an injured subject. While en route, they noticed the victim walking from a residence and getting into a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped in the area of Chapel Road and Kate Wagner Road. A deputy determined the victim had an injury to his right arm which looked like it was caused by a edged weapon.

An ambulance was called to the scene, and took the victim to Carroll Hospital Center for treatment.

The case was turned over to detectives in the Sheriff’s Office Investigative Services Division, who determined that the victim was at an address along Western Chapel Road when he got into an argument and was assaulted with a knife. He sustained cuts to his arm trying to defend himself.

McCree was arrested and charged in connection with the assault.
