The workshop will explore preparedness activities for Houses of Worship.
Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins will host an all-hazards planning and preparedness workshop for local houses of worship on Monday December 11th at 6:30 PM at the Frederick County Law Enforcement Center.
The workshop will explore preparedness activities for Houses of Worship and highlight tools available to assist in building basic plans for all-hazards emergencies. The discussion will include an overview of potential hazards, the planning process, and feature an introduction to the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Safeguarding Houses of Worship (SHOW) App.
Attendees that are representatives of local houses of worship are encouraged to bring their iOS (apple) or android devices to download the App. No preregistration is required.
For those interested, the workshop will be followed by a presentation of the Citizen Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) training.
In partnership with the Mid-Atlantic Center for Emergency Management at Frederick. Community College, the Sheriff’s Office will also present a webinar for those unable to attend the in-person workshop.
The webinar will take place on December 15th at 10:00 AM and cover the workshop content including a review of hazards, the planning process and the NIJ SHOW App. The webinar requires pre-registration through this link:
