Cause of Westminster House Fire Accidental

Damage is estimated at $20,000.

 

CARROLL COUNTY, MD.  (LG)  According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the cause of a fire that took place in Carroll County Thursday afternoon was accidental and electrical in nature.

It happened at 66 Madison Street, in Westminster. There were no smoke alarms or a sprinkler system installed in the two story wood frame dwelling, investigators said. It took 30 firefighters about 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control. Four dogs were rescued from the home, but authorities said one dog died at the scene.
