Frederick, Md. (KK) The bridge over the Monocacy River on Urbana Pike has reopened. It took crews just a little over a month to repair the bridge after a truck damaged steel beams in a crash on December 7. The work was expected to take 60 days, but repairs were made ahead of schedule.
“The crews also, despite the holidays and despite the really bitter cold weather, were working up to 12 hour days and getting in there and were working nonstop until they were able to get this done,” said Charlie Gischlar, spokesman with the State Highway Administration.
The State Highway Administration was able to use some materials from previous projects.
