Five Hurt In Vehicle Crash Friday Night

One was medivaced to Shock Trauma.

 

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) A two-vehicle crash Friday night in the Frederick area which injured a total of five people remains under investigation. The Sheriff’s Office says it occurred at the intersection of Buckeystown Pike and Urbana Pike just after 10:00 AM.

A Jeep Wrangler traveling north on Buckeystown Pike was attempting to make a left turn on to Urbana Pike. A Toyota Highlander going south on Buckeystown Pike had the green to continue through the intersection. But it ended up hitting the Jeep which had a red light.

The impact caused the two vehicles to spin. Two passengers in the Jeep who were not restrained were ejected. One of them identified as Patrick Livingston, 23, of Frostbrug, Maryland was medivaced from the scene to Shock Trauma. The other passenger in the Jeep, identified as John Regan, 2, of McLean, Virginia, and the occupants of the Toyota, Carlos Nalda, 35, of Frederick, who was the driver, and Emily Nalda, 39, of Frederick, were taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Jeep,  John Sampson, 35, of Vienna, Virginia, suffered minor injuries, but refused treatment at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office says there’s no indication that impairment by the drivers of either vehicles was a factor in this collision.
