Suicidal Man Being Sought By Police Shoots Himself

He was  flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

 

 

Mount Airy, Md) (KM) There were some tense moments for Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputies on Tuesday in Mount Airy. Authorities say they were dispatched to the town to search for a suicidal subject who was armed with a gun.

The Sheriff’s Office says he was found at around 12:30 PM. The man asked deputies to shoot him. They refused and the man fled.

Authorities say he ended up shooting himself in the head. He was flown out by the State Police Helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore in serious condition..

The Sheriff’s Office says Twin Ridge Elementary School was placed on lockdown during the incident. Deputies were stationed at the school at the time to make sure the students were safe.
