FMH Puts New Visitor Policy In Place

The hospital says it will remain in place through the rest of  the flu season.

Frederick, Md (KM) A new visitor policy has been put into place at Frederick Memorial Hospital for the remainder of the flu season.

FMH says anyone planning to visit who displays symptoms of influenza is encouraged not to come. Those symptoms include fever, sore throat, runny nose, coughing, chills and muscle aches; or unexplained nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Only two healthy visitors at a time can see a patient, and no children under 16 may visit the hospital at this time.

Anyone who comes to FMH should sanitize their hands and wear a mask to protect themselves. Hand sanitizers are located all over the hospital for use by anyone, including visitors..

Patients and visitors who need to be there and have the symptoms of the flu should also wear a mask., and not visit crowded  areas such as the cafeteria or the gift shop.

If you are displaying signs of the flu, FMH says it reserves the right to ask you to leave.

Anyone who has questions about this visitor policy can call 240-566-3300.
