He was arrested on Thursday at his home
Cumberland, Md (KM) Six counts of possession and three counts of distribution of child pornography have been filed against an Alleghany County man. Maryland State Police say Allen Ray Lease, 31, of Cumberland was arrested Thursday morning at his home.
Between September and October of last year, investigators with the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force say they received multiple downloads of images depicting child pornography. They say it came from a computer which was traced to Lease.
A search and seizure warrant was served on his residence on Thursday. Authorities found several images and videos of child pornography on Lease’s electronic devices. He was arrested at the scene.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
This is the second Alleghany County man arrested on child pornography charges this week. Jon Lohr, 80, of Frostburg, was taken into custody on Wednesday, State Police say.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is coordinated by the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit. The Task Force consists of the State Police and the US Department of Homeland Security Investigations. It works with police departments all across Maryland and is funded by a US Department of Justice grant. Investigators with the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force work to identify those involved in child pornography through the Internet, along with other related crimes that victimize children.
