Three people were displaced.
Frederick, Md (KM). There were no injuries from a town house fire in Frederick Thursday morning.
Battalion Chief Kevin Fox with County Fire and Rescue Services say personnel were dispatched around 8:19 AM to the 5800 block of Drawbridge Court just off of Foxcroft Drive. “Initial crews reported smoke coming from the eaves. The fire was held in the kitchen area, but the home did sustain smoke damage throughout, ” says Fox.
It took fire fighters 12-minutes to bring the flames under control. Two adults and one child were displaced.
“The Fire Marshal has ruled the fire as accidental as it originated on a stove,” says Fox. Damage is estimated at $25,00.
But despite the damage, Fox says the home can be made habitable again. “After some initial smoke removal and some repairs to kitchen area, it should be habitable,” he says.
Fox also says the fire did not spread to adjoining town houses. “Fire fighters checked the adjacent exposure home, and found there was no fire spread in that building,” he says.
