The panel issued a total of 9 indictments on Friday.

Frederick, Md (KM) Three juveniles charged as adults were indicted on Friday by the Frederick County Grand Jury. Omar Malik Bah, 16, of Frederick, is charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of a firearm by a minor, having a handgun on his person and possession of marijuana.

State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says Bah was arrested for robbing another person in the Hillcrest area on February 1st of this year. “This guy was coming home from the market. He was approached by two males wearing masks who grabbed and punched him, threw him down on the ground. Grabbed his groceries, tried to also grab other items off of him. He was able to get out his phone and call 911,” says Smith.

The other two juveniles who were indicted as adults were Jason Tyler Lewis, 17, of Jefferson, and Marcus Shedell Richardson, 16, of Brunswick. Smith says these two defendants were involved in a drug transaction on January 15th of this year in the Cambridge Farms community of Jefferson, where they were going to sell marijuana to two other people. “Individuals got out of a car aid approached the seller’s vehicle. One of the individuals brought an Airsoft handgun. It looked real, but it was a BB gun. They decided they were going to rob this person as they had no money to buy the marijuana,” he says.

But something went wrong. “Unfortunately, for them, when they pulled out the Airsoft gun and put it to this person’s head, a male in the rear passenger seat pulled a real gun, opened fire, firing shots, at least one of them hitting the victim in the chest, ” says Smith. The victim was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital.

The Grand Jury charged Lewis and Richardson with possession of a firearm by a minor, having a handgun in a vehicle, drug trafficking with a firearm, conspiracy to distribute marijuana and attempted distribution of marijuana.

The Grand Jury indicted nine people on Friday, including Isaac Benjamin Rodriguez, 23, of Frederick. He’s charged with one count of sex abuse of a minor, and two counts each of 2nd-degree rape, 3rd-degree sex offense and 2nd-degree sex offense.

Smith says these charges were for the sexual abuse of a six-year-old boy from January through December, 2017. On January 1st, 2018, sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on Allington Manor in Frederick, and learned that the child told a relative about the abuse. “The victim was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center, which does a great in these particular cases,” he says. “And  {the boy} disclosed, unfortunately, having to perform oral sex and other details of abuse.”
