Seven Out Of 11 Restaurants Found To Be In Compliance With Law Prohibiting Sale Of Alcohol To Minors

Authorities used underage volunteers as part of their compliance check.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) A compliance check of 11 restaurants in Frederick was conducted on Monday, February 12th. to see if these businesses were obeying  the  law against selling alcohol to minors. . Police say volunteers under 21 with valid identifications or driver’s licenses entered these establishments and tried to purchase alcohol.

Seven of the restaurants   refused to sell liquor to minors::

Bushwallers – 209 N. Market St
Mexicali Cantina – 467 W. Patrick St
Shuckin Shack – 41 S. Market St
Sumittra Thai Cuisine – 12 E. Patrick St
Tasting Room – 101 N. Market St
Wag’s Restaurant – 24 S. Market St
JoJo’s Restaurant – 16 E. Patrick St.

They were presented with a congratulatory letter from the Frederick Police Department for complying with the law prohibiting the sale of alcohol to those under 21. .

But four business did sell booze to minors:

Ragin Reef – 506 E. Church St.
Brewer’s Alley – 124 N. Market St.
Black Hog BBQ – 118 S. Market St
Sabor de Cuba – 9 E. Patrick St.

They were issued citations and referred to the County Liquor Board.
