Gas House Pike Bridge Over Linganore Creek To Close Next Month

It will allow the relocation of gas lines.

Frederick, Md (KM) Gas House Pike bridge over Linganore Creek will be closed beginning on Monday, March 5th.   The Frederick County Office of Transportation Engineering says the this will allow Washington Gas to relocate its gas line in the proximity of the span to avoid conflict with future plans to replace the bridge.

In a statement, the county says the work by Washington Gas will be completed within the county’s existing right of way, and estimated to last up to two -months, weather permitting. It will include the installation of over 800-feet of high pressure natural gas line using directional drilling methods.

The Office of Transportation Engineering says the bridge is expected to  reopen in early May; but unforeseen conditions and circumstances could delay that opening, officials say.

A detour will be set up. Motorists can use McKaig Road, Old Annapolis Road, Green Valley Road (Rt. 75), Drummine Road, Central Church Road and Gas House Pike.

The Office of Transportation Engineering says it has notified emergency personnel and other local agencies about this closure.
