The deceased was found in field in Germantown.
Germantown, Md (KM) The State Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the skeletal remains found in Germantown last month as Michael Wayne Umberger, 57, of South Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg.
Montgomery County Police say Umberger’s remains were found on Monday afternoon, February 26th in a field off of Great Seneca Highway by a resident. Officers responding to the scene said the remains were not located in any type of grave, and there was no obvious signs of trauma.
The Chief Medical Examiner will be conducting an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of Umberger’s death.
He had been reported missing by his family in July, 2017 .
