Driver Arrested Following Vehicle Chase

State Police say the pursuit started in Frederick County and ended in Washington County.

 

 

Hagerstown, Md (KM) A Hagerstown man has been arrested following a vehicle chase early Monday morning which began in Frederick County and ended in Washington County. William Emile Frazier, 56, was taken into custody following the pursuit.

At around 12:26 AM, State Police say a trooper with the Vehicle Enforcement Division saw a silver Infinity along Interstate 70 in Frederick County traveling at 110 miles per hour, and began a pursuit, activating his siren and emergency lights.. Troopers from the Hagerstown Barrack continued the chase when the vehicle entered Washington County.

The pursuit continued on to northbound I-81 and then the Infinity got off of an exit ramp 5A to eastbound Halfway Boulevard in Hagerstown. The driver lost control and the vehicle spun around, entered the westbound lane and struck a marked State Police cruiser.

Troopers were able to stop the car along Massey Boulevard and Railroad Lane in Hagerstown, and take Frazier into custody. He’s charged with driving under the influence, 2nd-degree assault, malicious destruction of property and other offenses.

The troopers and the suspect were not injured in this pursuit.

Authorities say Frazier was determined to be under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.
