Frederick, Md (KM) One man was medivaced following a shooting Sunday night in the Ballenger Creek area.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says at around 7:46 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 5500 block of Riverdel Place, and found a man laying next to a parked car with a gunshot wound to the groin area. Deputies administered first aid until medics arrived at the scene.
The victim was flown to Shock Trauma for treatment, and authorities say he is expected to survive.
Investigators say the shooting took place in a home near where the victim was found, and is believed to accidental and self-inflicted.
Detectives and crime scene technicians worked into the late evening hours gathering information and evidence.
