Gas Prices Continue to Rise

Frederick, MD (KK) You may have noticed the price at the pump slowly creeping up. Across the nation, the average price for a gallon of unleaded gas is $2.81. Christine Delise from AAA Mid-Atlantic says it’s because of a number of factors.

“We’re seeing a record level demand for gasoline in April. It’s actually matching the demand we typically see during the summer months, the political tensions going on in the Middle East and rising crude oil prices,” said Delise.

Delise says gas is at its highest price since December 2014. The current price for a gallon of unleaded gas in Frederick is $2.79. That’s up seven cents from last week. In Hagerstown, it’s also $2.79. A year ago, it was nearly 40 cents cheaper.
