Gas House Pike to Re-Open at Bridge Over Linganore Creek

Pending weather conditions and or any other unforeseen circumstances.

FREDERICK, MD.      The Frederick County Office of Transportation Engineering announced today that Gas House Pike at Bridge No. F09-21 over Linganore Creek will re-open to traffic on Saturday, May 5, 2018, pending weather or any unforeseen conditions and/or circumstances. The road closure allowed the utility company, Washington Gas, to safely relocate its gas line and complete the majority of its utility work at this location.

Final utility work will be in progress at this location utilizing a one-lane flagging operation.

The one-lane flagging operation on Gas House Pike at the existing bridge over Linganore Creek will occur for two weeks, beginning on or about Saturday, May 5, 2018 through Saturday, May 19, 2018, between weekday and possibly weekend hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting.

Some work and any unforeseen conditions and/or circumstances could extend the work and flagging operation beyond this time-frame. The remaining utility work includes final testing operations, tie-in connection work, and back-filling of the trenches. This gas line relocation work was required to avoid conflict with the county’s planned future Gas House Pike Bridge replacement project.
