Frederick Woman Charged With Assault

Police say she tried to run down a man  with a car.

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Charges have been filed against a Frederick woman who assaulted a man with a metal pole and tried to run him over with a car. Onella Namara St. Hilaire was taken into custody on Thursday at her home.

Frederick Police say at around 12:05 PM on Thursday, May 3rd, officers were called to the 200 block of Bucheimer Road for an assault in progress. When they arrived, the learned the suspect left the area in an unknown direction.

The victim said he had an argument with the suspect, who struck him several times with a metal pole. She then got into a vehicle and attempted to run him over several times. After that, she got out of the car, and attempted to strike him with a closed fist until witnesses separated the two.

St. Hilaire left the scene.

Officers located St. Hilaire outside of her home. She confirmed her identity to an officer who attempted to place her under arrest. Police says St. Hilaire resisted, and after a brief struggle, was paced under arrest.

She is charged with 1st- and 2nd-degree assault, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and destruction of property.
