Woman Dead Following Shooting In Frederick Early Sunday Morning

A male juvenile was injured.

Frederick, Md (KM) The investigation continues into a shooting in Frederick early Sunday morning which left one person dead.

Lt. Kirk Henneberry with Frederick Police says officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Weybridge Road at around 1:46 AM for a shooting. They found a woman with a gunshot wound to the upper body. They administered life-saving measures until medics arrived and took over. “Unfortunately, they did pronounce her dead not too long after their attempts were not successful,” says Lt. Henneberry.

A juvenile was found with a gunshot wound to the lower leg. He was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

Lt. Henneberry says investigators do not believe this a domestic incident. “There was some people in the house. There was party, and it looks like some things went wrong at the party. It definitely wasn’t a family-related type of thing,” he says.
