Frederick Mayor Declares State Of Emergency

Residents are urges to be cautious during the heavy rains.

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Mayor Michael O’Connor has declared a state of emergency in the city. He says Tuesday’s rain was brief, but it will continue to affect residents and businesses for some time.

In his executive order, the Mayor urges city residents to avoid standing water, and to keep storm drains on or near their properties free of debris. He also says be cautious when driving.

The city says the declaration of a state of emergency gives Frederick the opportunity to apply for state and federal assistance when it’s available.
