The suspect is in jail without bond.
Frederick, Md (KM). The investigation continues into a domestic incident last week which turned tragic.
Frederick Police say Officer Scott McGregor was dispatched to Frederick Memorial Hospital on Thursday, May 16th at around 6:18 PM to interview the victim of a domestic violence assault. She is identified as Diana Shaff Peckaitis, 72, of the 1500 block of West 10th Street. She provided details about the assault, and identified her husband, George Worthington Ramer, 64, also of the same address, as the suspect.
Police say Officer McGregor applied for an arrest warrant for Ramer, charging him with 1st-degree assault and 2nd-degree assault.
Lt. Kirk Henneberry with the Frederick Police says officers located Ramer at his address at around 1:50 AM on May 17th. He was taken into custody. “Unfortunately, the next morning, later on the 17th, we found out the victim died,” he said. “We then executed a search and seizure warrant on the residence to locate any evidence of the assault.”
Henneberry says police will be looking into whether additional charges could be filed against Ramer. :”We’ll sit down the State’s Attorney here this week and look at what the Medical Examiner says and the other evidence we were able to get out of the residence in addition to the victim’s statement when she was at Frederick Memorial Hospital,” he says. “And then we will determine what other charges are appropriate.”
Ramer remains incarcerated at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center without bond.
