Road Closures in Washington County Due To Flood Damage

A 24-hour Citizens Help Line and Network has been established for any resident or businesses that need information or resources related to their property.


Hagerstown, Md. – The Washington County Division of Engineering announced the reopening of Keep Tryst Road to thru traffic. Washington County Division of Emergency Services and Washington County Highway Department reported the following roads in the southern part of the county are still experiencing limited access due to last week’s flood waters.

Road Closed (Closed to all thru traffic, local traffic only):

Valley Road
Garretts Mill Road
Sandy Hook Road
Harpers Ferry Road
Back Road
Chestnut Grove Road

Road Closed to Thru Traffic (Local traffic only, roadway is passable):

All roads in the “No Access Road Closure” category also have sections open to local traffic only
Pleasantville Road
Hoffmaster Road
Limekiln Road

Detour Route (alternate routes to consider):

US Route 340
Rohrersville Road
MD Route 67
Trego Road
Burnside Bridge Road
Mills Road
Harpers Ferry Road

Residents who live in the areas effected by road closures are encouraged to contact their trash company to notify of current road conditions.

If you are expecting any packages, residents are also encouraged to notify UPS and FedEx of current conditions.
