The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Washington County in north central Maryland...
  Northwestern Carroll County in north central Maryland...
  Northern Frederick County in north central Maryland...

* Until 500 PM EDT.

* At 410 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Mount Lena,
  or 8 miles southeast of Municipal Stadium, moving east at 30 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches
           to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as
           damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by
           downed trees. Localized power outages are possible.
           Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Hagerstown, Thurmont, Emmitsburg, Municipal Stadium, Robinwood,
  Taneytown, Walkersville, Boonsboro, Smithsburg, Mount Aetna, Mount
  Lena, San Mar, Wolfsville, Saint James, Halfway, Myersville,
  Cavetown, New Windsor, Keedysville and Woodsboro.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Get indoors to protect yourself from wind and lightning. Trees around
you may be downed from damaging winds, so if you are near large
trees, move to an interior room on the lowest floor. Don`t drive
underneath trees or in wooded areas until the threat has passed.
