Fire fighters from two counties coming together to raise money for MDA.
Frederick, Md. (DG) – Fire fighters from Frederick and Montgomery Counties will be playing a benefit softball game on June 30, 2018 at Harry Grove Stadium to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Frederick County Fire Fighter, Jesse Springirth, said MDA is a cause close to the hearts of fire fighters.
“For the last 64-years the MDA has been the sole charity that fire fighters’ unions have been supporting,” Springirth said. “It started in Boston when a Luetenent’s child got diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. His fellow shift mates rallied and went door to door to raise money, and fill the boot.”
Gates open at 3 PM and all proceeds from the game benefit MDA.
Tickets to the game are $10 and allow you to see the Keys game later in the evening.
