Poolesville, MD (KK) – A fire in Poolesville injured one person Monday afternoon. Firefighters were called around noon to the 15 thousand 100 block of Sugarland Road near Partnership Road. When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy smoke coming from the building. An adult woman suffered burn injuries and was taken to the hospital.
“There was an occupant of the house who suffered some burn injuries and was found by firefighters upon arrival in the front yard. All other occupants did get out,” said Pete Piringer, spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.
Piringer says there were more than 75 firefighters on scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
