WV Man Identified As Suspect In Frederick Bank Robbery

Police say evidence gathered during a search determined he was a suspect.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Police have identified a suspect in the April 25th robbery of the Capital One Bank at 1305 West 7th Street. Timothy Tyrone Byers, 48, of Charles Town, West Virginia,  was apprehended on Wednesday, June sixth.

Charles Town Police located Byers and arrested him for an offense which occurred in their jurisdiction. Officers  also served  a search and seizure warrant on his home. A Frederick Police Department detective assisted in the search and found evidence which led to authorities to identify Byers as the suspect.

When he’s returned to Maryland, police say Byers will be charged with one count each of robbery, armed robbery and theft under $1,000.

During the robbery, police say an individual entered the bank at 1305 West 7th Street and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was displayed and no one was hurt.

Frederick Police say they would like to thank the Charles Town Police and the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in helping to close this case.
