SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Assistance Center Opens In Sharpsburg

The agency will help businesses and others entities apply for assistance following the May floods.

 

 

Sharpsburg, Md (KM)  Beginning today (Tues), the US Small Business Administration will be operating a disaster loan outreach assistance center in Washington County. It will be set up at the Sharpsburg Fire Department at 110 West Chapline Street. SBA staff will be on hand to help businesses of all sizes, non-profits, homeowners and renters apply for low interest loans to repair the damage from last month’s heavy rains and flooding. .

The SBA says disaster loans can be used to repair or replace real estate, personal property, machinery, equipment, inventory and business assets.

Officials from the Maryland Emergency Management Agency joined Frederick County and SBA staff last week to assess the damages in order to apply for assistance from this program. In addition to Washington County, people who live in the adjacent counties of Carroll, Montgomery and Howard Counties who suffered damages from the rain and flooding can apply for assistance, say SBA officials.

The center will be open from Tuesday, June 19th through Tuesday, June 26th. The hours will be from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. On Saturday, June 23rd, the hours will be from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The center will be closed on Sunday.

SBA will also have a disaster loan assistance center in Frederick County at the Public Safety Training Center at 5370 Public Safety Training Place, just off of Reichs Ford Road. It will be in operation from Monday, June 25th to Saturday, June 30th. The hours will be from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
