Part Of Monument Road To Be Closed Beginning Next Month

Crews will repair falling road embankments.

Frederick, Md (KM) Monument Road between Mount Tabor Road and Black Glen Court will be closed starting on or about July 16th. The Frederick County Office of Transportation Engineering says this closure  will allow a contractor to repair falling road embankments.

The contractor, Kline, LCC, which is doing business as Pleasants  Paving, will do a full depth pavement repair, resurfacing, installation of a concrete traffic barrier, reinforcing the earth slope, grading,  w-beam traffic barrier removal and installation, and erosion and sediment control, according to a news release from the county.

The project is expected to take about five months, weather permitting.

A detour using Mount Tabor Road and Michael Road will be set up.
