Hagerstown, Md (KM) A two-story detached garage, 20-feet by 20-feet, was destroyed by fire Sunday afternoon in Washington County.

At around 1:28 PM, 24 fire fighters from the Halfway Volunteer Fire Company in Hagerstown responded to 17,808 Virginia Avenue, and spent 10-minutes bringing the flames under control. No one was hurt.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says damage to the structure is estimated at $5,000. It was vacant at the time of the blaze.

Investigators say the preliminary cause of the fire was incendiary.

The fire originated on the first floor of the structure near a window, and was discovered by a neighbor.
