Briefing To Be Held On Obtaining Federal Reimbursement For Flood Damage

It will take place on Monday, July 9th.

Frederick, Md (KM) Local governments and non-profit organizations could be eligible for federal funding for damages following flooding from May 15th through the 19th. A briefing on the application process will be held on Monday, July 9th from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at the Frederick County Public Safety Training Facility at 5370 Public Safety Place in Frederick, just off of Reichs Ford Road.

Any federal reimbursement received would be on a cost-sharing basis, county officials say.

For non-profits to be eligible, they must show a current letter from the Internal Revenue Service which grants tax exemptions under section of 501(c) or (e) of the IRS Code of 1954. They can also present documents from the state showing that they’reĀ  operating as a non-revenue producing, non-profit entity organized or doing business under state law. Also, the Federal Emergency Management Agency must determine whether the non-profit provides eligible services.
